I have a lot of glass jars. Like an entire shelf in a cabinet. I use them for everything: food containers, decorations, flower vases, etc. I had a couple of these little dudes that came with diffuser sets:
While they were cute, they weren’t really too practical for anything. But…I sometimes have a problem letting go of things that I know are useful. I think that it’s genetic. So I decided to paint them. When in doubt…paint it out?
Using a technique I can only describe as genius, I stuck skewers into a block of green foam (used for flower arrangements) and then balanced the jars. Based on how heavy the jars are is indicative of how many skewers you should use. For me, these worked perfectly. (Don’t mind the wierd lady staring at you).
After about 3 coats (over a few days), those suckers were done. You can see that the glass near the neck didn’t get paint, but all I did is flip them over and add a quick spray to the top.
Now they’re comfortably resting on the new shelves.
Eventually I’d like to make some mason jars and wine bottles like these, but for now I’ll settle for these pretties.
What about you? Have you ever painted glass jars?

These look amazing! I haven’t tried painting any, but I want to….lol!

They were super easy, definitely a project that can be knocked out in a few hours!
